When Was Omega Founded?
Omega was originally founded by Louis Brandt in 1848. The brand name Omega was incorporated in 1903. Before that, the watchmaking company was known as La Generale Watch Company.
The original founder passed on the torch to his sons Louis-Paul and César Brandt in 1879. A year later the company was named Louis Brandt & Fils. The brothers innovated and grew the company rapidly so that by the early 1900s the brand Omega was a well-regarded name within the watch industry.

Omega watches are made in Biel/Bienne, Switzerland. Its founder, Louis Brandt, started his first workshop in the Swiss village of La Chaux-de-Fonds.
