Creativity runs through the blood of Konstantyn Boyajian. From childhood, he was inspired by the craftsmanship of family members who were jewelers.
At the tender age of 14, he began to experiment and create his own pieces of jewelry, fascinated by the beauty and intricacy of the work. At just 18, he took his first steps into the horological world. Captivated, Konstantyn familiarized himself with various watch brands and their unique qualities.
Switzerland
Konstantyn’s hunger for knowledge and love of his craft lead him on a journey of discovery. First to the heart of the watchmaking industry in Switzerland where he attended WOSTEP (the world-famous Swiss watchmaking school). Then to the UK, where he worked for TWG ltd (Breitling UK) restoring vintage Breitling chronograph watches.
Back to Switzerland in 2004, he first worked as a watchmaker. His work ranged from prototypes for Christophe Claret SA in Le Locle and projects such as Occhio for de GRISOGONO, Minute repeater with Automats for BOVET and flying Tourbillon.
He later worked independently at his atelier in Le Locle, crafting Tourbillon for Girard-Perregaux and Dimier while continuing to expand and share his knowledge of Minute Repeaters, Tourbillons and Chronographs.
Chef d’Atelier
In 2007 he moved to Geneva to work alongside the highly respected Pierre-Michele Golay at the Franck Muller Group. Here as Chef d’Atelier, Konstantyn developed prototypes of the 8 Days power reserve simple movement, Tourbillon movement, Mystery tourbillon movement, and Minute Repeater tourbillon movement.
Starting Up
Konstantyn added to his expertise by mastering turning with additional courses at WOSTEP and the ‘Solid works’ course in Micro Engineering in England. Following this, Konstantyn returned to Cyprus in 2009 – a master of his craft.
The Present
With more than 30 years of experience and his own Boutique-Atelier in bustling central Nicosia, Konstantyn is in high demand and is undoubtedly considered the most respected independent watchmaker in Cyprus. He puts his expertise to work developing new products, conducting seminars, and teaching about complications and watchmaking of simple and complicated movements.
Konstantyn lends his support and expert eye to Frank Muller in Cyprus and Rolex in Romania, amongst others. He can also be found working on restoring elite timepieces from Patek Phillip, Vacheron Constantin, Audemars Piguet and Rolex.
